Alsa partners with Transinsa to create a new force in healthcare transport across Spain

Alsa and TRANSINSA, a Asturias-based company, specialising in healthcare transport, have joined together to create a new force in healthcare transportation - SANIR.
SANIR aims to lead the healthcare transport sector nationwide, following its recent successful bid for a five year emergency transport contract with the Madrid Health Service.
The new company plan to grow and lead the current healthcare transport sector, in both emergency and non-emergency services through public health and private contracts.
SANIR is headquartered in Madrid and has operatons in Toledo, Alicante and Tenerife. It has a workforce of more than 1,000 specialist employees, including paramedics, physicians and nurses, of which more than 95% are exclusively assigned to healthcare tasks.
NEW CONTRACT
The new Madrid contract, which is a joint venture with the current operator, will utilise the latest technological advances and add 175 new ambulances to the fleet.
SANIR transports more than 2,500 patients per day, with more than 950,000 services per year and covering more than 550 events per year.
The new business aims to meet a growing demand from public and private healthcare providers, for high quality healthcare transport services, both emergency and non-emergency.
Another strategic focus of the company, will be in providing professional and reliable health transport cover for the growing number of cultural, music and sports events held across Spain.
