Experience:

María Ángeles Vicente is a technology executive with 25 years of experience in driving digital business transformation across complex, international industries. She holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Zaragoza and has completed the Executive Senior Management Programme at ESADE, the Advanced Management Masters Programme at IE Business School, and holds an Executive MBA from Comillas Pontifical University. 

María assumed the role of Group CIO in November 2025 where she oversees the global technology strategy and innovation, having successfully led the technology evolution as Alas’s CIO since April 2023. Throughout her career, she has specialised in bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and corporate strategy within heavily regulated sectors. Prior to her current role, she served as the CIO and Member of the Management Committee at Aqualia, following a successful tenure at Naturgy, which solidified her deep expertise across the water, mobility and energy sectors (including electricity and gas).
