A countrywide poll of UK coach passengers by National Express has revealed ‘Love Actually’ as the nation’s favourite Christmas film.

The UK’s largest coach operator conducted an online poll across its social media channels asking the public to choose from a selection of popular Christmas themed films including ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’, and ‘The Grinch’.

The Richard Curtis romantic comedy with an all-star cast including Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Liam Neeson and Emma Thompson came out on top with 39% of the vote and will now be added to National Express’ onboard entertainment service for passengers to watch free of charge while travelling over the festive season.

Chris Hardy, National Express UK Coach Managing Director, said: “It’s a busy time of year and can be stressful. Entertaining our passengers with a good film is a great way to help them relax and get into the festive mood.

“But we were struggling to choose from all the great Christmas films out there so decided to ask people what they’d like to watch. We got hundreds of responses with Love Actually coming out as the clear winner, which will now be available across all of our more than 550 coaches from 1st December.”

As the only public transport network on Christmas and Boxing Day, National Express is once again keeping the nation moving. A record number of UK travellers made coach part of their travel plans last year, with nearly 750,000 journeys taken across its UK wide network over the festive season.
